The first time I started to wonder about this during the lockdown of pandemic year of 2020. As many event people, I too lost everything. And when I was trying to get any job to survive this crazy time, funny thing happened. NOBODY wanted to hire me.

Apart from feeling like a useless existence, I learned a valuable lesson. Event people are considered overqualified (“You’ll be bored with us”). I have to admit, this one I actually get. But then again, during covid, there was nowhere to run to, so…  The second opinion was the one that really surprised me. We are sorry, you are UNDER-QUALIFIED.” Yes, I am serious! I actually heard the sentence “Well, I planned my grandma’s birthday, too, what’s so hard about events?”
